2021 – THIS PROJECT IS STILL A WORK IN PROCESS AND THE FOLLOWING DESCRIPTION SHOULD BE UPDATED IN THE COMING MONTHS.
PROJECT OF DIGITAL RE-COLORING OF ANALOGUE PHOTOGRAPHY EXTRACTED FROM FAMILY ARCHIVES.
When Nathan Favot lost his grand-mother in 2019 he didn’t expect to be an artist that would transform familial content into a new project.
After hesitating for a year he realized that almost all his works and project were based on personal histories and the fact he had deformed and re-interpretation. As he went through his grand-mother house he found analog photographies material depicting her entire life since the day she was born. Nathan immediately started to imagine the context, stories, and emotions that were underlying those images. As he did before with his own life, his perception started to project sensations, feelings, and colors onto those black and white photographs.
In this new project, Nathan is starting to explore the different technics of re-coloration.
From the old school water painting effect towards the digital infinity of colors distortion, Nathan Favot will use his family archives as a playground where to apply colors as effects onto a life he has the chance to explore and modify.
